The Peninsula Pilot reliever's pitch got away from him and caught the hitter Greg Graham in the back of his helmet in this June 1991 game, The Newport News Daily Press wrote.

Knocked to the ground, Lynchburg trainer David Duchin rushed out to tend to Graham, before Duchin helped Graham walk off the field to be sent off for checks at the hospital, The Daily Press wrote

"He had a bad ringing in his ears. He was talking, but his eyes didn't look good," Lynchburg manager Buddy Bailey told The Daily Press afterward. "He's going to have a tremendous headache or a concussion."

Duchin worked tending to minor leaguers as a trainer over at least six seasons, five of those with the Red Sox and one with the Indians.

Duchin started in minor league baseball by 1988. He served as trainer that year for the rookie Burlington Indians.

After a year away, he returned in 1989 with the Red Sox at single-A Winter Haven, then in 1990 at high-A Lynchburg. He then stayed at Lynchburg through 1993.

In July 1992, he was named as a trainer for the league all-star game. Then, in June 1993, he got a mention in a Richmond Times-Dispatch article related to his other job for the team, as clubhouse man starting laundry.

That season in 1993, however, appears to be his last recorded in the minors.
